The Chemring Energetic Devices (CED) business unit was formed in 2009 to integrate and manage two existing Chemring Group businesses, Scot, Inc. in Downers Grove, IL and Technical Ordnance, Inc. in Clear Lake, SD. In July of 2010, Scot, Inc. officially became "Chemring Energetic Devices" and continues to be the CED headquarters. Plans to change "Technical Ordnance, Inc." to "Chemring Energetic Devices" are nearing completion. Both businesses have significant market shares in the military CAD/PAD market, with strong component sales to Missiles, Munitions, Space, and Ammunition prime contracts. CED has retained and developed the necessary expertise, skills and facilities to undertake research, design/development, qualification, manufacture and life-cycle support of energetic materials, devices and systems. CED is also the market leader in Battlefield Effects Simulation. We are committed to providing the safest, most realistic combat scenarios for our war fighter. We manufacture products which simulate smoke signaling and screening, indirect fire events, audio/visual battlefield effects signatures, IED simulation and ground to air rocket signatures.
